Delhi Airport Express Metro & Windows Phone 7

Last Sunday I was at New Delhi railway station’s Metro Station, to catch the “Delhi Airport Express Metro”. The Metro train had arrived and I was entering in to the coach then all of a sudden, I heard this announcement “Ladies and gentlemen, we have found one black colored cap at the ticket counter , whoever has lost it please collect it from us”. I was already thrilled by the construction at this Metro station, the corridor for Airport Metro route is unbelievably clean, as if any Ameriki airport metro station would be. From New Delhi Railway station to IGI Airport it takes exact eighteen minutes. Forget the chikchik of autowallas, nasty traffic,  around 18 Kms in 18 minutes, that too in an AC coach what else an Indian can ask for, from corrupt everyone. Now, about the ticket cost , only 80 Rupees so it’s worth a ride even if you are not going to IGI Airport, have a ride if you are in Delhi anytime.

I wasted several micro seconds here and there and then finally clearly understood the announcement; it became clear and sounded familiar when the smart announcer added that Microsoft Windows Phone is printed on this cap. Without wasting any further nano seconds I jumped of the coach took a U turn and ran upstairs as fast as possible before any fellow Indian reaches there and claims for the cap. I reached near the barricades , I couldn’t go back till the ticket counter , so shouted “excuse me”  and then waved my hand towards the metro employee at ticket counter , one girl (employee) came , smiled and handed me my windows phone 7 black cap. I thanked her and appreciated for mentioning “Windows phone 7” in the announcement else I must have not paid attention and would have lost it.

My take away from there, other than WinPhone7 cap was, memory of a world class Metro station, their service, attentive, smart and honest, young customer focus employees. Indian Railways should learn some lesson from Metro, and Mr. Sridharan. Nothing is impossible.
